As missionaries in the Texas Houston South Mission, we know our purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ, by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end. We do this through our constant efforts to find, teach, invite, retain, and activate God’s children; we love it, we live it, and we do it! We begin with the “End in Mind”, and see God’s children as he does. We are Disciples of Jesus Christ and the best missionaries in the world!
Elders & Sisters,
We love you and are grateful for your service, sacrifice, obedience and desire to help all come unto Christ. In a few short weeks we will celebrate Easter as we rejoice in the Savior's infinite Atonement. The Church has created a wonderful Easter campaign that you will be able to share with everyone you come in contact with. We will provide more details in the coming days, but you will be given specific pass along cards and the opportunity to share a new video that centers on the Savior. As part of this initiative, you will want to make sure you know how to do family history work. Because of the Savior's resurrection, all families can be reunited and and we will want to teach what we know about eternal families. This is yet another great tool to help people come unto Christ.
I thought I'd do something a little different this week and have you review a brief training I put together this weekend on Vision and Effort to Baptize . Please review the attached file and if you have the ability, please print and review it during the week. Last week I asked you the question, "Do you know how to calculate what it will take to have a baptism each month or transfer?" Many of you had great answers to this question and understand the principle behind 3-2-1 Vision to Baptize. I believe we understand the vision well, what I think needs more clarification is what it really takes to make the vision a reality. The intent behind my email to you today is to help connect the dots between your Vision to Baptize and the Effort it requires to have someone come unto Christ. Every day is an important day in missionary work and what you do today will impact the outcome of not only tomorrow, but the weeks ahead.
The principle of working today for the blessings of tomorrow is well taught by the Apostle Paul as he taught of the Law of God’s harvest, “Benot deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:7–9). We reap what we sow! God’s law of the harvest is that if we want something later, we have to work for it now. If we want to see people come unto Christ, we need to find daily, teach daily, invite daily, follow up daily, and be diligent each and every day. If we don’t do this, we won’t have any harvest later! I invite each of you to recognize the importance of what you do each day and ask that if you can be more diligent to please do so. It begins with your purpose, your goals, your plans, and your work. Make each day one that allows you to account to the Lord of what you have done with your time to serve Him.
We have been blessed to see 64 souls enter the waters of baptism and receive a remission of their sins this year. Your hard work and efforts are appreciated and I invite you to keep pressing forward by finding, teaching, and boldly inviting all to follow the Savior. March will be another great month and we expect great things from each companionship. Be diligent, be faithful to your call, and do all you can each day to reap the blessings of your hard work. We love you!
Saludos y abrazos, have a great week!
